This two-story brick building has two store fronts joined on the first floor. The cast iron pilasters remain. The second story retains its segmentally arched windows. The Chicago style of the Heller Building contrasts with the neoclassic County Court House a block away.

Today's 1313 Club offers great food, a unique environment, catering, and a full bar. Their visiting patrons often ask "How did the 1313 Club get its name?" There are at least a couple of different stories. The most popular is the fact that the original bar area was 13 feet high by 13 feet wide. Another story is that when they opened, there were already 12 bars and 12 brothels doing business in Wallace, making this the 1313. You can pick the story you like best!

The Heller Building has housed a hotel upstairs, a bus depot, a barbershop, and a cafe since it was rebuilt in 1891. In 1996, the previous owners, Mike and LV Montgomery carried out a major remodel, giving The 1313 Club it's current wildlife decor. In May of 2006, Mike and LV sold the establishment to Dean and Jill Cooper, who expanded the seating area and menu. The 1313 Club offers excellent food for your onsite or offsite events. Darrell Lemiux, the head chef, is skilled at providing the right meal at the right price for your event or gathering.

Dean was up in the air during Slippery Gulch 2009, click to see why Dean was an especially dramatic part of Slippery Gulch 2009, a wild Wallace 3-day celebration that only happens every decade or so.
